Flint Family Five Adventures

A chronicle of our biggest adventure yet - as we travel to China to adopt our little girl Olivia.

Tuesday, July 5, 2011

It's official! She's ours!

Today we had to do a bunch of paperwork to make Olivia's adoption final in the eyes of the Chinese government. We went back to the registry office then we had to go to the Notary Office for more paperwork etc.  It was long and hot but we got through this major hurdle.

Poor Olivia had only a short nap so this evening she was quite out of sorts. she's only drinking a bottle of milk and eating nothing.  We are being patient and tomorrow we'll try some custard like stuff to see if that may help. Thank you Barnes' family. She's also teething so that hasn't helped her today either.

It's funny. Each of us today said we're ready to come home. Tomorrow is one week that we've been here. It's amazing how isolated we feel. Everyone's posts help so much. We look forward to reading them every day. Thank you so much.

Well, I hope everyone had a wonderful fourth of July. I am off to bed. Tomorrow all three families are off to the zoo to pet pandas.

Love to you all!

Hello Flint Five. I read your itenerary for today and it looks like you have a free day to just hang out and enjoy your new family. I am sure you will enjoy doing nothing. I do hope though, that you took advantage of a little free time the other day and did the optional trip to WAL-MART!!! lol I call Kathleen every time I see a new post and she is just thrilled that I do that for her. Kenny is going to get her one of the days soon and bring her over so I can show her the pics. She said she would love to come over. Also she wants to know if you need a dresser? She seen one up the street at a sale. Haven't heard from Allen yet but as soon as he paints I will get over and put the room together for you and Olivia. We are both procrastinating on working on your jungle...surprised??? lol But we will get that done for you, well maybe. Give everyone a big hug and kiss from me. Tell the boys get ready for our big trip to Pizza Hut with the Lathron's. It will be the first of many for Olivia. She will soon realize what a crazy and wild extended family I have and love to pieces. Get home soon. It seems like weeks since you left.
    Love to all, Char
